In this module you will learn about the history of chemical weapons, the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) and the implementing body of the CWC: the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). 

A pass  grade of 80% in the Final Test is required to obtain a Certificate. 


Learning objectives

At the end of  this module, you will know: 
  • how and where chemical weapons have been used throughout history  
  • how the Chemical Weapons Convention has evolved into its current shape 
  • what the purpose of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons is 
  • about the different organs of the OPCW and their functions
